Why aramid bead rings?
Aramid bead rings consist of aramid yarn covered with a matrix. Aramid is wound into a ring which is stiff enough for automatic transfer with a bead carrier during the production process of the tyre. In the finished tyre there is enough flexibility in the bead area to fold the tyre.
- Lightweight – significantly lighter than steel wire beads, lowering the overall tyre weight.
- Foldable – the tyre can be folded for packaging and transport without damage.
- Dimensionally stable – high tensile strength and very low elongation keep the bead seated securely on the rim.
- Corrosion free – no rust, no steel splinters.
